Review of Casacocò in Gardenia (an Italian gardening magazine)

Casacocò is a country house dedicated to wedding receptions and other events. Its garden is overflowing with over 600 rose plants from 300 different varieties that cascade over arbours and climb olive and oak trees.

Purposefully tousled and a bit wild, just like the roses which adorn it: that’s the garden of Casacocò, a country house in Manziana, Rome province.

It’s a triumph of roses: about 600 rose plants from 300 different varieties. Guido Giusti, the creator and owner of this small jungle bursting with colour and scent, is able to name every rose plant. Strolling through this garden with him is a heart-warming experience.

Giusti’s passion for these plants is contagious: not only does he know everything about these roses and personally tends them himself, but he’s also a master at showcasing one of their most authentic characteristics: untamable energy. Roses climb up olive and oak trees, picket fences, a tree house, and the many arbours dotted throughout the park, freely spilling over the garden as they wish. These strong and wild roses continue to hold center-stage, even when they aren’t in bloom.
